Volleyball Recap: Juan Diego Catholic Takes a Loss

Juan Diego Catholic was the 3-0 winner over American Heritage when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Soaring Eagle took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots on Tuesday. While the Soaring Eagle didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Patriots 25-20 in the first set.

Juan Diego Catholic started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-17.

Juan Diego Catholic has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for American Heritage, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Juan Diego Catholic is set to square off against their familiar foe North Sanpete at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, American Heritage will challenge rival Providence Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
