Baseball Recap: Lake Region Comes Up Short

Lake Region was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-13 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bartow Yellow Jackets. The Thunder were not able to make up for their defeat to the Yellow Jackets from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Dan Colon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Gage Calcutt, who scored two runs while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.

Lake Region now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Bartow, they moved to 3-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Lake Region didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-3 loss against Ridge Community on the 25th. As for Bartow, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Winter Haven on the 25th.
