Basketball Recap: Exeter-West Greenwich Gets the Win

Exeter-West Greenwich hadn't done well against Central Falls recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights had just enough and edged the Central Falls Warriors out 64-61. For the Scarlet Knights, this counts as revenge for the 69-37 victory the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Central Falls lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Leandro Rojas Vargas, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. The matchup was Rojas Vargas' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sire Hazard, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists.

Exeter-West Greenwich's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Central Falls, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Exeter-West Greenwich will head out to square off against Coventry at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Exeter-West Greenwich is facing Coventry at the right time seeing as Coventry is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Central Falls, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-58 defeat against Times Squared Academy on the 23rd.
