Basketball Game Preview: Ponderosa Bruins vs. Casa Roble Rams

The Ponderosa Bruins will be taking part in a tournament against the Casa Roble Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Ponderosa is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Union Mine: they outscored them in every quarter. The Bruins walked away with a 78-65 win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Diamondbacks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Ponderosa got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Travis Bays out in front who posted 13 points along with eight boards and three steals. What's more, Bays posted four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Clark Woods, ll, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Meanwhile, Casa Roble took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against Bella Vista by a score of 72-63.

Ponderosa lost to Casa Roble on the road by a decisive 70-54 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Thankfully for the Bruins, Moses Oginni (who shot 69% from the field en route to 21 points along with eight boards and five assists) won't be suiting up this time.
