Baseball Game Preview: West Bridgewater Wildcats vs. Bourne Canalmen

West Bridgewater is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will venture away from home to take on the Bourne Canalmen at 3:45 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when West Bridgewater duked it out with Cardinal Spellman on Friday. The Wildcats came up short against the Cardinals, falling 12-5. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Bourne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 10-1 to Upper Cape Cod RVT.

Bourne saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luca Finton, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Bourne's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for West Bridgewater, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

West Bridgewater was able to grind out a solid win over Bourne in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 4-0. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Canalmen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
