Basketball Recap: Nuiqsut Trapper Comes Up Short

After flying high against Alak on Friday, Nuiqsut Trapper came back down to earth. The Nuiqsut Trapper Trappers were beaten by the Nunamiut Amaguq 83-56 on Saturday. The Trappers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-29.

Nunamiut found their leader in sophomore Kevin Gordon, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 steals. Gordon is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Justus Mulcahy was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and ten steals.

Nuiqsut Trapper's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Nunamiut, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.

As of now, neither Nuiqsut Trapper nor Nunamiut have any future games scheduled.
