Basketball Recap: Hillcrest Piles Up the Points Against South Oak Cliff

Hillcrest lost to South Oak Cliff back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Hillcrest Panthers took their match with ease, bagging a 57-26 win over the South Oak Cliff Bears. The Panthers pushed the score to 41-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bears had little chance of recovering from.

Hillcrest got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Victoria Hlavaty out in front who posted 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Hlavaty is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Clauriannys Berrios, who earned nine points in addition to eight boards and five steals.

Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 12-13. As for South Oak Cliff, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-16.

Hillcrest will challenge Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. South Oak Cliff has already played their next contest, a 52-41 loss against Sunset on the 28th.
