Flag Football Recap: Glynn Academy Comes Up Short

Glynn Academy fell victim to Effingham County and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Rebels 28-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Terrors of the 24-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Ivyana Jenkins was nothing short of spectacular for Effingham County: she rushed for 63 yards and two scores on only six carries, and also threw for 112 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing touchdowns Jenkins has posted since October 2nd.

Glynn Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Effingham County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Glynn Academy will take on Statesboro at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Effingham County, they will challenge Evans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Rebels 13.6, the Knights 8.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
