Softball Recap: St. Clairsville's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

St. Clairsville had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out the Buckeye Trail Warriors 6-5 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Devils have posted since April 1st.

St. Clairsville's victory bumped their record up to 2-15. As for Buckeye Trail, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

St. Clairsville and Buckeye Trail could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Red Devils (ranked 622nd) will meet Madonna (ranked 26th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for St. Clairsville: they have been struggling with 18 straight losses at home dating back to last season, while the Blue Dons have snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road. Meanwhile, Buckeye Trail will face off against Strasburg-Franklin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (536 vs. 184).
