Olympian is 2-8 against Montgomery since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Aztecs at 3:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Olympian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Mater Dei Catholic on Monday as they made off with a 10-3 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the game before.
Aaron Gonzalez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Esteban Diaz was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Hector Peralta was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
Montgomery not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 7th (when they won 7-1). They put the hurt on Hilltop with a sharp 10-4 victory. The Aztecs haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Sebasti?n Moreno spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Montgomery let Isaak Perez and Noah Flores run wild. Perez went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Flores went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Marco Reyes, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Montgomery was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The victory got Olympian back to even at 13-13. As for Montgomery, their win bumped their record up to 13-11.
Olympian couldn't quite get it done against Montgomery in their previous meeting two weeks ago as they fell 5-1. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
