Volleyball Recap: St. Genevieve Comes Up Short

If St. Genevieve was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of St. Paul last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Valiants fell 3-1 to the Salesian Mustangs on Thursday. The Valiants have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

St. Genevieve started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-11.

St. Genevieve's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Salesian, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-16 record this season.

St. Genevieve will head out on the road to face off against St. Monica at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Salesian, they will square off against St. Anthony at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Saints will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
