Football Recap: Sandalwood Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Sandalwood's offense. They fell 13-0 to the Tocoi Creek Toros on Thursday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Saints were not able to get on the board.

Ashley Purdy threw for 115 yards on eight of 20 attempts. Elizabeth Faulk was her top target, picking up 35 receiving yards.

Tocoi Creek found their leader in freshman Addy Curry, who picked up 89 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 78 yards and one touchdown. Curry was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 61 yards.

Sandalwood now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Tocoi Creek, they pushed their record up to 3-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Sandalwood didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 27-18 win against Ribault on the 11th. As for Tocoi Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 20-6 victory against Baker County on the 11th.
