On Tuesday Kalamazoo Christian's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Parchment Panthers. Those four runs were actually the fewest the Comets have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Liz Younkers looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cecile Ybema, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season. Alexis Earley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Kalamazoo Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Parchment, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Kalamazoo Christian beat the Panthers by a score of 8-1 later that day.
