Softball Recap: Bonham Wins Going Away Against Denton

The Bonham Warriors got the win against the Denton Broncos on Tuesday by a conclusive 11-5. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Annalyn Stafford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Katy Harrison, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Haley Capehart also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

The win got Bonham back to even at 11-11-1. As for Denton, they dropped their record down to 6-18-1 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home.

Bonham does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Denton, they will head out on the road to square off against Ryan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Broncos' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
