Volleyball Game Preview: York Dukes vs. Chicago Christian Knights

The York Dukes will face off against the Chicago Christian Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, York didn't have quite enough to beat Hinsdale South and fell 2-1. The Dukes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, York sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 19-25, 25-18.

Despite the defeat, York got top-tier performance from Ben Wede, who had 23 digs.

Meanwhile, Chicago Christian came up short against Hinsdale Central on Saturday and fell 2-0.

While Chicago Christian ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-18.

Chicago Christian's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 18-15. As for York, their defeat dropped their record down to 24-10.

York was able to grind out a solid win over Chicago Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Dukes repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
