Nathaniel Wade posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Wednesday. He tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Wade's effort led Pacific Grove over Everett Alvarez and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Breakers are a perfect 4-0 against the Eagles going back to March of 2019, a lead they'll look to extend.
