Basketball Recap: Weyauwega-Fremont Comes Up Short on the Road Against Winneconne

Weyauwega-Fremont had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a blow against the Winneconne Wolves, falling 100-42. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Winneconne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brody Schaffer, who shot 53% from the field to rack up 25 points along with six steals and five boards. Another player making a difference was Drew Lenz, who went 9-for-14 on his way to 20 points in addition to eight assists and eight steals.

The win made it two in a row for Winneconne and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Weyauwega-Fremont has already played their next contest (against Shiocton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Winneconne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 90-86 defeat against New London on the 9th.
