Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Liberty's 11th in Last 14 Outings

Liberty got themselves on the board against Brashier Middle College Charter on Thursday, but Brashier Middle College Charter never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Bengal. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Carson Garrick made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Liberty is 5-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 7-8 otherwise. Garrick was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two triples, and three runs. What's more, he posted four RBI, the most he's had since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eli Bledsoe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Liberty is undefeated when Bledsoe posts two or more runs, but 9-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ethan Carroll, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Liberty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brashier Middle College Charter only posted an OBP of .154.

Liberty has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Brashier Middle College Charter, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.

Looking ahead, Liberty will take on West-Oak at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Brashier Middle College Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
