The Elberta Warriors will face off against the Northview Chiefs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Elberta comes in on four and Northview on five.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Elberta and St. Michael Catholic, and Elberta kept the tradition alive. Everything went Elberta's way against St. Michael Catholic on Thursday as Elberta made off with a 12-5 victory.

Destiny Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Blakely Hooper was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Boyd, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Elberta hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Northview got themselves on the board against Baker last Thursday, but Baker never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Gators with a sharp 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Chiefs, who have now won five matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Mikayla McAnally and Daviona Randolph made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, McAnally tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Elberta's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-12. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 12 hits in those games compared to only 4.93 in the others.
