Baseball Recap: Altamont Triumphs

Altamont won the last time they faced Newton and things went their way on Monday too. The Indians walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Brayden Elam was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Altamont's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Newton, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Altamont will welcome Brownstown/St. Elmo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newton, they will challenge Shelbyville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
