Baseball Recap: Roseville Has No Trouble Against River Valley

There's no place like home for Roseville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They never let the River Valley Falcons get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Monday. The contest marked the Tigers' most dominant win of the season so far.

Tyler Ritter tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one).

On the hitting side, John Vicente lll was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Austin Chang, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Roseville lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Roseville's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing nine hits in those games compared to only 3.4 in the others. As for River Valley, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Roseville will have a chance to go back-to-back against River Valley: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
