Softball Preview: Estacada Rangers vs. Crook County Cowboys
Estacada hasn't had much luck against Crook County recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Rangers will challenge the Cowboys at 4:30 p.m.
Estacada is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They fell 5-1 to Gladstone.
Crook County came out on top against Molalla on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Cowboys never let the Indians get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Cowboys might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.
Kya Mozingo was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Jolene Bartolotti also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Crook County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Molalla only posted a batting average of .118.
Crook County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Estacada, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
Estacada came out on top in a nail-biter against Crook County when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 9-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rangers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
