Baseball Recap: Jac-Cen-Del Comes Up Short

Jac-Cen-Del fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Rising Sun on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shiners. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Shiners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 on May 5th.

Jac-Cen-Del saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Wagner, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Dylan Ricke was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Jac-Cen-Del has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season. As for Rising Sun, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jac-Cen-Del will venture away from home to face off against New Washington at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rising Sun, they will head out to take on Austin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.84 runs per game on average), something the Shiners will no doubt try to take advantage of.
