Cupertino is 9-1 against Monta Vista since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Pioneers will host the Matadors at 4:00 p.m. Monta Vista took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Cupertino, who comes in off a win.

While Cupertino's win against Palo Alto wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pioneers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Vikings on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pioneers have posted since May 6, 2024.

Meanwhile, Monta Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 14-1 to Santa Clara.

Cupertino's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5. As for Monta Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything went Cupertino's way against Monta Vista in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Cupertino made off with a 17-1 win. Will the Pioneers repeat their success, or do the Matadors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
