Softball Recap: Western Wayne's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Western Wayne put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Honesdale. The Wildcats blew past the Hornets 10-0. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Hornets back in April, they had to take a 6-3 defeat.

Western Wayne let Raegan Palmer and Khloe Mistishin run wild. Palmer went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base, while Mistishin went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Palmer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hannah DeStefano, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one double.

The victory was the third in a row for Western Wayne, bringing their record up to 7-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Honesdale, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Looking ahead, Western Wayne will head out on the road to square off against Holy Redeemer at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Royals' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Honesdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
