Basketball Recap: Coram Deo Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Fort Worth Christian last Tuesday, Coram Deo Academy came back down to earth. The Coram Deo Academy Lions took a 37-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grapevine Faith Christian Lions on Friday. The contest marked Coram Deo Academy's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Coram Deo Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Emily Revering posted nine points and three steals. Revering is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Claire Kavalich, who earned five points.

Even though they lost, Coram Deo Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Coram Deo Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 24-6. As for Grapevine Faith Christian, their record now sits at 9-10.

Coram Deo Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 50-46 loss against Grace Prep on the 28th. As for Grapevine Faith Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-26 defeat against Southwest Christian School on the 28th.
