Soccer Game Preview: St. Pauls vs. Douglas Byrd

The St. Pauls Bulldogs will challenge the Douglas Byrd Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

St. Pauls is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering South View just ended the team's eight-match winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-3. St. Pauls fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against South View since Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Douglas Byrd didn't have quite enough to beat E.E. Smith on Wednesday and fell 4-3.

Douglas Byrd's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for St. Pauls, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 13-4-2.

Everything went St. Pauls' way against Douglas Byrd in their previous meeting back in September of 2015, as St. Pauls made off with a 4-1 win. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
