Baseball Recap: Alamosa Comes Up Short

After flying high against Centauri two weeks ago, Alamosa came back down to earth. The Mean Moose fell 9-5 to the Bayfield Wolverines on Tuesday. If the Mean Moose were looking for revenge after losing 16-10 to the Wolverines when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jaidyn Burciaga made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Alamosa has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Bayfield, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wolverines beat Alamosa by a score of 15-0 later that day.
