Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Fernley

It's playoff time, and Fernley had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Churchill County Greenwave on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for the Vaqueros, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Janessa Robinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Taylor Tollestrup, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 27 times she's played.

Fernley's win bumped their record up to 32-11. As for Churchill County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 23-13.
