Basketball Recap: Mohave Takes a Loss

Mohave was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Mingus Marauders, falling 49-28. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Marauders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-26 back in January.

Mingus found their leader in sophomore Savannah Tobias, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine steals. Tobias is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 50 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Alice Kinsey, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds.

Mohave's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Mingus, their win bumped their record up to 19-5.

Mohave has already played their next game, a 47-16 loss against Bradshaw Mountain on the 4th. Mingus will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Prescott at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th. Prescott will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Mingus surely won't give up without a fight.
