Volleyball Recap: Luna Vork and Xiara Maldonado Secure Win for North Kissimmee Christian

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Heritage Christian School, North Kissimmee Christian was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Heritage Prep Praetorians 3-0. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Praetorians, too.

North Kissimmee Christian not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Heritage Prep between 14 and 17 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-17.

North Kissimmee Christian was led to victory by Xiara Maldonado and Luna Vork. Maldonado hit 61.5% for nine kills and 13 aces and four digs, while Vork had three aces. Maldonado is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least seven every time she's taken the court this season.

They weren't the only good server: North Kissimmee Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 32 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in three consecutive matchups.

North Kissimmee Christian now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Heritage Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

North Kissimmee Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Parkway Christian Academy on the 26th. As for Heritage Prep, they will face off against Heritage Christian School at 5:00 p.m. on September 2.
