Basketball Game Preview: Kelly Catholic Bulldogs vs. Frassati Catholic Falcons

The Kelly Catholic Bulldogs will challenge the Frassati Catholic Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kelly Catholic will be strutting in after a win while Frassati Catholic will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Kelly Catholic strolled past The Woodlands Christian Academy with points to spare, taking the game 51-34.

It was another big night for Mattie Holmes, who posted 32 points and six boards. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Kelly Catholic's points. Another player making a difference was Abigail Brown, who had six points and four steals.

Kelly Catholic was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Frassati Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 61-39 to Legacy Prep Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 918th, while the Lions are ranked 160th).

Frassati Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Kelly Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 13-16.

Kelly Catholic won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup two weeks ago, slipping by Frassati Catholic 41-40. Does Kelly Catholic have another victory up their sleeve, or will Frassati Catholic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
