Baseball Recap: Watertown Extends Road Winning Streak to 15

On Wednesday Watertown's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Smith County Owls. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 on Tuesday.

Watertown's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bo Price, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Price a new career-high.

Watertown pushed their record up to 14-0 with the victory, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Smith County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Watertown will head out to challenge DeKalb County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something the Purple Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Smith County, they will venture away from home to square off against Providence Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
