Basketball Recap: Mesivta Extends Winning Streak to Two

Kohelet Yeshiva came into Saturday's game looking for another win against Mesivta, but Shaked Ben-David wouldn't allow it. The Mesivta Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-56 victory over Kohelet Yeshiva on Saturday thanks in part to Ben-David, who posted 23 points and five assists. Those five assists gave him a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Kohelet Yeshiva lost, don't look at Chezky Levitt. Despite the final result, he put up 33 points and eight rebounds. The contest was Levitt's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevo Anaki, who had 11 points and seven rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Mesivta and bumps their season record up to 7-2. As for Kohelet Yeshiva, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Mesivta will head out on the road to square off against Foundation Collegiate Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kohelet Yeshiva, they will head out to challenge Pine Forge Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kohelet Yeshiva is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season.
