Softball Recap: Granite City Warriors vs. Dupo Tigers
Granite City came out on top against Dupo on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Warriors skirted past the Tigers 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.
Christine Myers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Alexis Ruiz was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI. Morgan Buckingham also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
