Baseball Recap: Fuqua Gets the Win

Fuqua played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and they got just the result they were looking for. They came out on top against the Tidewater Academy Warriors by a score of 13-10. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won seven in a row.

Josh Simon and Austin Morgan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Simon struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Morgan struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Simon scored three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Morgan scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jackson Hicks was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He also put up a hit, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Collin Jamerson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

The win got Fuqua back to even at 2-2. As for Tidewater Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.
