Baseball Recap: Millersport Wins Going Away Against Harvest Prep

Millersport's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Harvest Prep Warriors as they made off with an 18-1 victory. The contest marked the Lakers' most dominant win of the season.

Owen Everitt and Colton Mason made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Everitt tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Mason struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Everitt also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Millersport is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-9 otherwise. At the plate, Everitt went 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles, while Mason went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Mason a new career-high.

In other batting news, Darian Smith and Nicholas Yingling did most of the damage at the plate: Smith got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Yingling went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Yingling has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cash Inman, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.

Millersport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Millersport's record now sits at 3-9. As for Harvest Prep, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
