Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Josiah Rice and Isaac Bailey Lead Bunn to Victory

After losing to J.F. Webb the last time they met, Bunn decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bunn Wildcats walked away with a 64-56 win over the J.F. Webb Warriors on Monday. With that victory, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.

Leading Bunn to victory were Isaac Bailey and Josiah Rice. Bailey dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards, while Rice went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points along with six boards and four steals. Those 12 boards gave Bailey a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Kearney, who posted 12 points in addition to eight assists and five boards.

Bunn was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive games.

Bunn's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-6. As for J.F. Webb, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Bunn will look to defend their home court on January 7, 2025 against Southern Nash at 7:00 p.m. As for J.F. Webb, they will head out to take on South Granville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
