Volleyball Game Preview: Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars vs. Eldorado Firehawks

Pinecrest Academy Cadence has gone a perfect 4-0 against Eldorado recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Firehawks at 6:00 p.m. Pinecrest Academy Cadence will be strutting in after a victory while Eldorado will be coming in after a defeat.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence barely beat Lincoln County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars blew past the Lynx 3-0 on Wednesday. The Cougars not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23rd (when they won 3-0).

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-23, 25-22.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Isabelle Arnold, who had 27 digs and one assist, and Kaitlyn Davis, who had 12 digs. Those 27 digs gave Arnold a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Eldorado came up short against Cheyenne on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Firehawks in their meetings with the Desert Shields: they've now lost seven in a row.

Eldorado started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-21, 25-10, 25-22.

Eldorado's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, their win bumped their record up to 18-16.

Everything went Pinecrest Academy Cadence's way against Eldorado in their previous matchup back in September, as Pinecrest Academy Cadence made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
