Basketball Recap: Cochranton Sets Scoring Season-High Against Cambridge Springs

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cochranton). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Cambridge Springs Devils 81-51. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Cochranton was led to victory by Walker Carroll and CJ Shorts. Carroll posted 27 points and five assists, while Shorts dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Carroll's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Brady Rynd was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 12 points and five boards.

Cochranton now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Cambridge Springs, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Cochranton Cardinals duke it out with the Commodore Perry Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cambridge Springs, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-60 loss against Union City on the 18th.
