Softball Recap: Beacon Find Success

Beacon took a 14-run defeat the last time they faced off against Chester, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Hambletonians 7-6 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since April 2nd.

The victory made it two in a row for Beacon and bumps their season record up to 3-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Chester, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beacon will head out to take on Liberty at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.92 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Chester, they will head out on the road to square off against Wallkill at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Hambletonians surely won't give up without a fight.
