Football Recap: Edison Comes Up Short on the Road Against Pearsall

Edison had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a blow against the Pearsall Mavericks on Friday, falling 47-6. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Jm Gutierrez went supernova For Pearsall., rushing for 200 yards and two scores on only eight carries. Gutierrez's longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Rosado, who rushed for 32 yards and one touchdown.

Looking ahead, Edison will challenge Robstown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pearsall, they will take on Crystal City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 979 yards in their previous games.
