Recap: Hunt Warriors vs. Fike Demons

The Hunt Warriors had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came out on top against Fike by a score of 60-51. Given Hunt's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Fike is ranked 512th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hunt was led to victory by Jordan Scott and Austin Joyner. Scott scored 16 points, while Joyner scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Na'sir Hines, who scored seven points.

Hunt has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Fike, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Hunt will be playing in front of their home fans against C.B. Aycock at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in C.B. Aycock's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games. As for Fike, they will head out on the road to square off against West Johnston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully West Johnston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday.
