Softball Recap: Hasbrouck Heights Extends Road Winning Streak to Six

While Hasbrouck Heights's victory against NV - Demarest wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Aviators narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Norsemen 4-3. While the Aviators didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Maddy Connelly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mackenzie Riordan, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Giuliana Terranova, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Hasbrouck Heights pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for NV - Demarest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Hasbrouck Heights will welcome Saddle Brook at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for NV - Demarest, they are taking a road trip to square off against Teaneck at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
