Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Sterling). Everything went their way against the Strasburg Indians on Saturday as they made off with  a  16-0 victory. The  win was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won five  matches in a row.
 Dayten DiOrio was a  major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only  one  hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those  11  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-4 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Aiden Ortega and  Conner Gemaehlich did most of the damage at the plate:  Ortega  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and two  runs, while  Gemaehlich  went a perfect 4-for-4 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. Those  four  RBI gave  Ortega a new career-high.  Memphis Dempcy was another key player,  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances with two  stolen bases, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 Sterling  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .634. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Strasburg only posted  an  OBP of  .077.
Sterling's victory was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 13-4. Those  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Strasburg, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record  this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sterling will host Crowley County  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Strasburg, they will look to defend their home field  on Monday against Elizabeth  at 6:15  p.m. The Cardinals' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1  runs per game  this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
