Softball Recap: Union City Takes a Loss

After flying high against Randolph Southern on Wednesday, Union City came back down to earth. The Indians fell just short of the Northeastern Knights by a score of 9-7 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Indians have suffered since April 17th.

Abby Zigler was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Brianna Williams was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Union City now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Northeastern, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.

Union City has already played their next game, a 9-7 loss against Cambridge City Lincoln on the 17th. As for Northeastern, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-2 defeat against Yorktown on the 19th.
