Basketball Recap: Alhambra Beats Argonaut for Their Seventh Straight Victory

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Alhambra walked away with it. They pulled ahead with a 63-62 photo finish over the Argonaut Mustangs on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since December 12, 2023.

Despite the loss, Argonaut still got an impressive performance from Mitchell Mcmahan, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Mcmahan's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. JJ Lungren was another key player, putting up 19 points.

The victory (which was Alhambra's seventh in a row) raised their record to 18-14. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points over those games. As for Argonaut, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 26-8.

Alhambra has already played their next matchup, a 50-49 loss against International on the 8th. Argonaut does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
