Preview: Manor Mustangs vs. Stony Point Tigers
After six games on the road, Manor is heading back home. They will take on the Stony Point Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stony Point took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Manor, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Manor earned a 48-36 victory over Round Rock Westwood. The victory was just what Manor needed coming off of a 68-40 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Stony Point was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 48-43 to McNeil. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Stony Point came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while McNeil is ranked 563rd).
The losing side was boosted by Naomi Ofunrein, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Matilda Bortels, who scored 10 points.
The losses dropped Manor to 9-7 and Round Rock Westwood to 8-11.
Manor came up short against Stony Point in their previous meeting back in January, falling 49-38. Can Manor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
