Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Midland Legacy walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pebble Hills Spartans on Thursday, sneaking past 10-8. The win was familiar territory for the Rebels, who have now won five games in a row.

JP Reyes looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single walk any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brayden Renz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Rey Rey Ruiz, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Midland Legacy's victory bumped their record up to 23-14-1. As for Pebble Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 18-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Spartans beat Midland Legacy by a score of 12-10 later that day.
