Basketball Game Preview: Ellsworth Panthers vs. Osceola Chieftains

Ellsworth hasn't had much luck against Osceola recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Ellsworth Panthers will host the Osceola Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. Ellsworth knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Osceola likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, Ellsworth was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 64-59 to Menomonie.

Meanwhile, Osceola had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 60-53 win over the Blackhawks.

Ellsworth's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3. As for Osceola, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Ellsworth couldn't quite finish off Osceola in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 39-37. Can Ellsworth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
